FUN WITH MAGNETS

Class 7 students were shown the two types of magnets- Bar Magnet and Horse-shoe shaped MAGNETS.
Uses of magnets were also shown like seperating a mixture of sulphur powder and iron fillings.
Students also enjoyed making beautiful patterns on magnetic board using magnetic colourful pieces.

Reactivity of metals with oxygen

Students were taken to the lab to demonstrate the reaction of magnesium ribbon with oxygen. Magnesium burns in air to form a white ash and burns with a luminous flame. When this white powder ash is dissolved in water and tested with a drop of phenopthalpheno indicator, the solution turns dark pink showing that the solution is basic in nature.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

"THE LOVE FOR ALL LIVING CREATURES IS THE MOST NOBLE ATTRIBUTE OF MAN." As said by Sir Charles Darwin, today on the occasion of EARTH DAY, students were taken to the herbal garden of our school to promote a sense of appreciation and responsibility towards mother nature. Let us all take a pledge to contribute our share in conserving the nature.
