An interesting magic show was organised in our school DAV Pushpanjali on 12th of April for classes 6,7 and 8.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the show and learnt a few magic tricks also.
Students of Class 7 and 8 were taken to the Science lab to observe the structure of guard cells and stomata under the microscope. Students were demonstrated the method to prepare a temporary mount of epidermal cells of lily leaf which was stained and then observed under the microscope.
Students were taken to the lab to demonstrate the reaction of magnesium ribbon with oxygen. Magnesium burns in air to form a white ash and burns with a luminous flame. When this white powder ash is dissolved in water and tested with a drop of phenopthalpheno indicator, the solution turns dark pink showing that the solution is basic in nature.
"THE LOVE FOR ALL LIVING CREATURES IS THE MOST NOBLE ATTRIBUTE OF MAN." As said by Sir Charles Darwin, today on the occasion of EARTH DAY, students were taken to the herbal garden of our school to promote a sense of appreciation and responsibility towards mother nature. Let us all take a pledge to contribute our share in conserving the nature. Major concern issues like species extinction and global warming need to be discussed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6LUaGy1 https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://earthday2017.today/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/18.jpg&imgrefurl=https://earthday2017.today/earth-day-slogans/&tbnid=C-sg7vz6fgao-M&vet=1&docid=EyjN33IUMcucKM&w=564&h=401&source=sh/x/im
