Students were taken to the lab to demonstrate the reaction of magnesium ribbon with oxygen. Magnesium burns in air to form a white ash and burns with a luminous flame. When this white powder ash is dissolved in water and tested with a drop of phenopthalpheno indicator, the solution turns dark pink showing that the solution is basic in nature.

Making an electromagnet Students of Class 7 were demonstrated the method to prepare an electromagnet using an iron nail, pencil,  battery,copper wire.  Students were also told how to make an electromagnet stronger. Magnetic field lines were also demonstrated on a white sheet of paper with the help of a bar magnet and iron fillings.
